Kerrie is the owner of How Fast Time Flies, a vintage shop on Etsy. She’s been on Etsy for a few years and specializes in vintage glassware and other household goods. The shop name is a reflection on how quickly her daughter, who’s a partner in the shop, grew up.
Some of the links in this article are affiliate links that will pay me a small commission if you use them to buy something.

Tell us about your shop and what you sell.
My shop name is How Fast Time Flies Vintage – I sell vintage Drinkware, Decor, Clothing, Kitchen items, and Bedding from the 50’s- 90s era.
My shop has been featured in Architectural Digest, Country Living Magazine’s Old School Summer edition for 2022, on Punchdrunk.com
, and on Eye Swoon
.
How long have you been an Etsy seller?
I’ve been on Etsy since 2019.
I started selling on Etsy to have something to do in my spare time. I love estate sales, and drinkware is my favorite!
I don’t have room to keep all of it so I pass my treasures on to other collectors.
What was the hardest part about starting a business?
The hardest part of starting a business is knowing and understanding your expenses and revenue, and making sure you know if you are making money or not.
You have to know your numbers.
It was also learning what the prices are that you need to sell your product for.
The research was a learning curve for me as far as knowing where to look and how to set prices that weren’t too high or too low.
Tell us about your normal daily routine as an Etsy seller.
I check my sales and print out the orders, then I enter my sales from the previous day.
I pack my orders, then take the morning 4-5 days out of the week and go sourcing for products.
During this time I listen to Kara’s Youtube videos or the classes.
Once I get back from sourcing, I start cleaning what I purchased.
I then take listing photos in the afternoon because the lighting is at its best. I start listing what I can as well as relisting old items.
What advice would you give someone who’s a new or aspiring Etsy seller?
Stay consistent. Whether it’s listing, sourcing, or bookkeeping, just get it done.
I highly recommend getting in a group like the E-Shop group because you will learn so much faster about the right way to do things.
Try and take some time for yourself, even if it’s 30 min a day. You need time to decompress.
It’s not for the faint at heart but it can be extremely rewarding and fun.
