Tell us a little about your shop and who you are.
My name is Diana Roberts, my shop name is Knotted Leaf Weddings, and I sell wedding bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages using book pages and filter paper flowers that I make.

How long have you been selling on Etsy?
I have been on Etsy for 9 years.
What’s the hardest part about selling online?
For me, the hardest part of starting a business was getting used to the structure of writing descriptions and taking good pictures.

What’s your daily routine like?
My daily routine is to get up around 6 in the morning and check my websites and social media and then answer any customer questions.
After that, I edit pictures and add any new products. By then the rest of the house is waking up, so I get my shipping for the day ready and work on the open orders I have.
I usually take a couple of hours to talk to my husband while he makes dinner, we eat, clean up, and then I start making flowers for the rest of the evening.
What advice would you give to someone who wanted to start selling online?
I would tell people that want to start selling online to take some time first to learn some photography skills because that is so important.
Then do research on writing descriptions. Reading great product descriptions that are out there can be inspiring and can help you think about your descriptions in another way.
It doesn’t have to be just the same type of items that you sell, a great product description about anything can inspire you.
Anything else you’d like to add?
I would also say that you should definitely sell what you have a passion for.
If you have to make things day after day, year after year it had better be something you really enjoy!
Selling online can be frustrating, but making a product you love will be what gets you through the tough parts.
