Wicker baskets can be a nice touch, will hold a lot of flowers, and you can give them to the guests of honor (parents, grandparents, and relatives of the mom and dad to be) at the end of the shower.

September food can be either summer-themed or can move toward a more fall feeling depending on where you live and what the weather is like.

Mini tarts with fruit filling.
Make little tarts for guests and fill them with summer and fall fillings. It’s easy to make a bunch of tart shells and fill them with different fillings, and since everyone loves pie, this will be a hit. Go with summer berries or pumpkin for a fall flavor.

Here’s a look at the gold treats I made by brushing then with Monegasque edible gold luster dust. It was really easy, the dust is flavorless, and I was surprised at how little effort it took.
