You can have it as the overall color scheme, pairing it with white, ivory, or chocolate brown, or you can use it as unexpected accents here and there. These are some ideas for ways to use the color blue in your wedding ceremony and reception.

Some blue color themes for weddings.

These are some blue wedding color schemes that you could use, or start out with, to decide on the colors for your wedding. In general, you should have one light color, one dark color, and one or two medium tones that you can use as your main colors, then play off of those.
You can see from the color swatches above that blue can be very Spring-y or Winter-y depending on the shade of blue. Use these as a starting point to go with when you’re looking for the mood that you like.

Blue flowers.
There are some flowers that are naturally blue, like delphiniums and hydrangeas. but using silk flowers is probably going to be your best bet with this kind of color. When I did wedding cakes I made a lot of blue sugar flowers because many of the blue flowers are either poisonous, or they need a lot of water to stay fresh-looking. Sugar and silk flowers don’t wilt, and they’re easier to source than real ones. You can find a lot of blue silk flowers at festwholesale.com by searching for “blue bulk” when you get to their site.
